About Dr Reece Yeo
Integrative Chinese Medicine Practitioner. B.TCM, MBBS (Hon). Reece doesn't practise as a GP or medical practitioner; he works alongside yours.
Reece trained as a medical doctor before retraining in Chinese and functional medicine, a background that lets him look at your health through more than one clinical framework. If you want time to understand your health properly, with your results explained in plain words, this is the kind of thorough look he was trained to give.
Reece trained in medicine at the University of Sydney and worked as a medical practitioner, including in government hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry, before retraining in natural therapies and Chinese medicine. From 2007 he owned Doctor Earth Bondi Junction Health Foods, and for 13 years he was Clinical Director of the Doctor Earth Bondi Junction Wellness Clinic. He moved to the Gold Coast in December 2020. He now practises at The Wellness Rooms @ Burleigh, Unit 6, Burleigh Square, 79 West Burleigh Rd, Burleigh Heads. Reece's practice is guided by Resilience Medicine, his Chinese medicine framework for looking at how your body responds to a challenge and recovers. Read more about Resilience Medicine
Who Reece works best with
Reece enjoys working with motivated, health-conscious people who know there's no quick fix when it comes to looking after your health with natural therapies. The people who do well with him take ownership of their health and are ready to work closely with him. They want to understand their health, and they're open to changing their diet and lifestyle and, where it's suitable, to tests, herbs or supplements that Reece discusses with them first. They also know that changes to health and habits take time and effort, and they're willing to stick with their treatment plan.
Areas of interest
Reece also offers iridology, a traditional constitutional assessment that looks at the iris. His other services include genetic testing and a range of functional medicine pathology tests.
Always one to believe in collaborative care, Reece works closely with other practitioners inside and outside the clinic to help you look after your health. He used to teach budding Chinese medicine students at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he won an Excellence in Teaching award for his dynamic teaching style. He no longer teaches academically, but still mentors a small number of junior practitioners one on one in clinical practice and business.
Reece also talks about how he works on his podcast, The Integrative Blueprint. It's a good way to get a feel for his approach before your first consultation. Reece practised in Mudgeeraba from 2022 to 2026, and moved to The Wellness Rooms @ Burleigh in Burleigh Heads in November 2026.
If you're looking for a practitioner who can understand and explain your health from several perspectives (modern medicine, functional medicine and Chinese medicine), and who draws on a thoughtful combination of them, Reece may be a good fit for your care.
Resilience Medicine
Resilience Medicine is the Chinese medicine framework Reece uses in practice. It looks at how your body takes in a challenge, responds in proportion, finishes that response and settles back to baseline. When Reece sees you, he looks at where in that cycle things may be struggling, alongside any diagnosis you already have. It draws on classical Chinese medicine, modern physiology and your existing test results, and care involves diet, lifestyle and Chinese medicine. It isn't a medical specialty. Reece doesn't practise as a GP, and his care works alongside your GP and any treatment you already have.
