Frequently asked questions
No, you don't need a referral to see Reece. You can send Reece a booking request directly to talk about your health concerns and request an initial consultation. If you have pathology reports, specialist letters or imaging results, please bring them or email them beforehand. They're very helpful for the consultation.
No. Reece sees patients by appointment only, so there are no walk-ins.
Send a booking request through the booking request form on this website. Your appointment is only booked once Reece confirms it. Questions first? Email reece@drreeceyeo.com.
If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please let Reece know at least 24 hours beforehand by emailing reece@drreeceyeo.com. Otherwise, a cancellation charge equal to your consultation fee applies. Reece also sets this out in the email confirming your initial consultation.
Medicare doesn't cover consultations with Reece. Medicare also doesn't cover functional tests Reece arranges; he'll talk you through the cost in your consultation. You may be able to claim a rebate for acupuncture from your health fund, depending on your fund and level of cover, so please check with your fund before your appointment. Reece doesn't have HICAPS, so you pay the full fee on the day and claim from your fund afterwards. Payment is by card only, and no cash is kept on the premises.
Only by phone, and only for follow-ups. Follow-ups are usually face to face at the clinic, but for some existing patients and conditions, Reece can follow up by phone. There are no video consultations. The initial consultation is always face to face, because it includes a full physical examination, including tongue and pulse diagnosis and a clinical examination, which can't be done remotely.
Reece has a particular interest in health after 40, perimenopause and women's hormonal health, thyroid health, ongoing tiredness, gut health, skin, men's health, muscle and joint pain, and stress and mood. He also offers support during cancer treatment. Acupuncture may help with ongoing back, neck and knee pain and tension headaches. He works alongside your GP and specialists. See the Areas of interest page for more.
The initial consultation is up to 180 minutes (3 hours) and costs $590. It includes a detailed talk about your health history, a review of your pathology, a full physical examination using conventional and Chinese medicine methods, an acupuncture treatment (where it's clinically appropriate), a treatment plan and one SMS follow-up afterwards. Herbal formulas, if prescribed, are charged separately. See the pricing page for follow-up fees.
If you've had an MTHFR gene test, Reece can go through your result with you and explain what it does and doesn't mean for your health.
It depends on how long you've been unwell, the kind of health concern you have and how closely you can follow your plan. Recent, simple problems often need fewer consultations, while long-standing or complex ones usually need more. Reece will give you his honest view at your first consultation. Read more about how long care might take.
Not always. Herbal medicine is only considered after a full consultation. Reece prescribes a herbal formula when it's the right fit for your pattern. Some people respond mainly to acupuncture, some to nutritional medicine and diet changes, and some to herbal formulas. Most have a mix. Herbal formulas are charged on top of the consultation fee.
